Newcomers to the Hudson Valley We'll Be Visiting this February

It’s the beginning of a new year, and along with plenty of snow, we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming several exciting new eateries and stores to the Hudson Valley. With every small business launch in the region, we are reminded of the astounding density of talented and creative folks who reside and make a living in upstate New York.

Below, we’ve put together a small collection of the most anticipated new hotspots that we highly recommend you cross off your must-visit lists this February.

Kingston Bread & Bar

Born of the much-anticipated collaboration between the talented people behind Rough Draft Bar & Books, and Kingston Bread Lab, this new Hudson Valley institution-to-be has us excited for our next trip down the river. Expect a wide variety of breads & pastries during the week, bagels on the weekend, lots of tasty food, and a specially selected bar menu including local beers, wine, and more!

Open 8 am - 11 pm Tuesday - Sunday

43 North Front Street, Kingston

Lola Pizza Kingston

Another product of a killer collaboration, Lola Pizza is the latest venture of culinary & design masters Zak Pelaccio and Taavo Somer. They both brought their distinctive flairs to this stylish and well-conceived new eatery. When we stopped by shortly after their recent launch, we found that surprisingly, their pasta dishes sang even brighter than their pizzas.

Saturday & Sunday from 12 pm - 9 pm

243 Fair street, Kingston

Sunshine Colony

Sunshine Colony is a brand new, self-described “communal Catskills bar” in the increasingly popular Livingston Manor. Focusing on natural wines, a strong selection of beers, and a warm atmosphere with plenty of charisma, this bar has captured our interest, and soon, no doubt, our loyalty.

Open Thursday - Sunday

47 Main Street, Livingston Manor

The Quiet Botanist

One of our favorite finds from the beginning of 2020, the Quiet Botanist is a dreamy new haven for anyone looking to be surrounded by good scents, healing products, and homeopathic remedies. Headed by an immensely welcoming (and talented) Aussie turned Upstater, the Quiet Botanist is an exciting new addition to Hudson’s Warren Street.

Open Thursday - Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm

445 Warren Street, Hudson

West Taghkanic Diner

Though no longer exactly a “newcomer”, the West Taghkanic Diner is still one of our favorite new additions to the Hudson Valley from 2019. Featuring the delicious dishes of star chef Kristopher Schram (who is perhaps more used to bustling kitchens at top eateries in Copenhagen than diner stoves), and located in a perfectly authentic setting, this weekend hot-spot really has it all.
